The whiteboard proposes that typed links could drive synchronization by expressing different dependency relationships:

    State dependencies

    Retention / garbage-collection roots

    Presentation dependencies and embeds

    Ordinary links and mentions

    Authority evidence and capabilities

Examples connect changes, schemas, files, resources, and references. The main idea is that link types could determine what data to synchronize, retain, or fetch. Versioned references may require hyperedges, while arbitrary URLs could use deterministic “permanode” blobs.
