We have two ways to tell the backend that we want something synced. Subscription and discovery. I think we should consolidate on one design

Which one has better performance? Subscription sync happens every 2 minutes. If the frontend/middleend calls Discovery for those resources on a 2-minute interval, is discovery or subscription more performant? If one of them is faster, why?
